Anchors Up! Welcomes FSU Social Work Students

The FO2W Anchors Up! Program is pleased to welcome Fayetteville State University Bachelor of Social Work senior interns to join our team. Mrs. Sydney Theobald and Mr. Tryrik S. Williams will serve as mentors.  Both will assist the program in research efforts and serving rural  youth of Bladen County. The Anchors Up! program focuses on Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE), relationship skills, leadership, and positive youth development.   
  • Mrs. Sydney Theobald brings greetings as a proud graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College.   She is pursuing a social work major at Fayetteville State University, with plans to graduate December 2021.  She is a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society and the National Association of Social Workers.  Theobald hopes to pursue a master’s degree in social work and work with individuals with mental illness and with military families.  Mrs. Theobald enjoys spending time with her dog, Iris, working on home improvement projects and time in the kitchen trying out new recipes!
 
  • Mr. Tyrik S. Williams is a native of Fairmont, NC.   He is a proud senior at Fayetteville State University majoring in Social Work with a minor in Criminal Justice.   The connected trusted adults in his life instilled in him the importance of lifelong learning.  After graduation in December, 2021, he aspires to continue his education in pursuit of a master’s degree in Social Work that leads to him becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.   Mr. Williams‘ ultimate and passionate goal is to operate a private practice that accommodates the mental health service needs for adults and children.
