February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Teen dating violence is more common than you might expect. One in four adolescents reports verbal, emotional, physical, or sexual dating violence each year. This leads to more problems as youth who experience dating violence are more likely to experience symptoms of depression and anxiety, engage in high-risk behaviors like smoking, drinking, and using drugs, they are also more likely to think about suicide.
The Anchors Up! program works with middle and high school youth to equip them with the skills needed to identify and maintain healthy relationships free of violence. Sign Up to learn more about our next Anchors Up! cohorts.
