Fish Out Of Water CDC, Inc. recently hosted a College Bootcamp led by Dr. Moore, equipping students with essential skills for a successful transition to college. As part of the event, we proudly awarded two $500 Mary C. Corbett scholarships and provided 16 first-year college students with dorm trunks stocked with essentials.

During the bootcamp, students learned study, relaxation, and time management skills, scholarship search techniques, and the importance of key campus offices. They also participated in goal-setting activities and engaged in discussions on sexual consent and healthy relationships, ensuring they are prepared both academically and personally for college life.

The event was held in conjunction with the Bladen County 2024 Juneteenth celebration, reinforcing our commitment to empowering young scholars while honoring history and community.
